A few things make Haas unique for a clean-energy career – firstly, as a part of the UC Berkeley – it has access to many different disciplines like engineering, sciences, law and public policy. This field due to its social, environmental and political impacts – requires minds from all these fields and more to work together. Being part of Haas provides you opportunities to work on projects that are truly inter-disciplinary. Secondly, somewhat in the same vein, the interdisciplinary nature extends to courses and professors. Some business school courses are taught by lawyer, environmentalists and economists. Thirdly, Haas’ location in the Bay area is hard to beat – both since its a hotbed of all things entrepreneurial as well as houses most cutting edge cleantech companies in the US. This helps if you are seeking funding for your venture or looking for a job.
